Our Family Law Practice
We work closely with either party to a divorce, from the decision to file through trial to post-judgment requests for modification or enforcement of existing divorce decrees. We handle all matters related to or arising out of divorce, including:
- Child custody and visitation. We will help you develop and put in place custody and visitation plans that are in the best interests of your children. We will also seek to protect and maintain an active role for you in the growth and development of your child.
- Child support. We will review all proposed child support orders under North Carolina guidelines and ensure that all relevant income is factored into the calculation.
- Alimony or spousal support. We will help you determine whether spousal support is necessary and, if so, the amount, frequency and duration of payments.
- Equitable distribution of marital property. Our attorneys will help you divide the debts and assets of your marriage, including real and personal property, bank accounts and investments, retirement funds and business assets.
We also handle domestic violence proceedings, adoptions (including stepparent adoptions) and prenuptial/postnuptial agreements.
